Plot Outline

Martha, a high school senior, wants the most out of her future, despite her dad having other plans for her.  She's given a life changing opportunity where she can reach her aspirations. However, to do so, she'll have to challenge her conservative Latin-American upbringing and her father.

Part of the Bay Area Video Coalition's youth film program, high school students directed, acted, and edited this short film.

Filmmaker Notes

The piece is about a young Latina and the struggles she faces to find herself outside her familial obligations.  The film was inspired by the true stories among Jose's friends and family.
