Plot Outline
Chinatown, Los Angeles: a French hit man has just killed someone. Pursued by the people who hired him, he phones his lover to explain that he must escape. He leaves Los Angeles with nothing but his car, his gun and his dog. High Winds is the story of a man on the run whose past is closing in, a man who can’t afford to look back.
Filmmaker Notes
When I began developing High Winds, I decided it would be a deliberately experimental film. I wanted to strip the story to the bare minimum and push the limits of the narrative line. I wanted to see how far I could go with a single thread; how I could hold the story together with almost nothing.
In that sense High Winds explores the boundaries between narrative and experimental, linear and non linear story telling and audiovisual experience.
