Filmmaker Notes
In 2004, I read a magazine article
about Winter and his quest to visit every Starbucks in the world.
The goal itself seemed odd enough, but when I found out he'd been
actively pursuing it for nearly 10 years I was amazed. Why would
someone choose such a seemingly pointless and impossible mission in
life? What was going on in this guy's head?
Those are the questions STARBUCKING seeks to answer. The cameras
follow Winter around hundreds of cities throughout dozens of U.S.
states and several foreign countries as he seeks out new Starbucks
stores. Extensive interviews with people who have known Winter over
the years shed light on this fantastically unusual individual. Also
revealing are his encounters and interactions with random people he
meets along the way.
STARBUCKING is truly the ultimate road movie. The story takes place
on location everywhere, including the friendly
neighborhood Starbucks down the street from your house. Sit back,
have a cup of joe, and watch as one man defies society's norms in a
neverending search for the lady in green.
